Film Sales & Acquisitions Director

We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Film Sales & Acquisitions Director to join our dedicated team and drive sales, negotiate distribution deals, and build global buyer relationships.

The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Film Sales & Acquisitions Director to join our small but dedicated team. 


The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and developing sales strategies for our films, negotiating distribution deals, and building strong relationships with buyers and distributors globally. 


This is a part-time role for 3 days a week (24 hours).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent our slate of films to buyers and distributors worldwide
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to secure distribution deals across territories
  • Build and maintain relationships with distributors, broadcasters, platforms, and other key industry players
  • Acquire new titles and scout up and coming talent
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the global film market.
  • Coordinate with filmmakers to align sales efforts with their vision and goals
  • Attend key film markets and festivals to promote our titles
  • Must be available to attend Cannes Film Festival in May 2025. 


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the film industry in sales, acquisitions or broadcasting
  • Strong network of industry contacts, including distributors, broadcasters, and platforms
  • Deep understanding of the independent film market and global distribution landscape
  • Good understanding of film and television rights and film windowing. 
  • Thorough understanding of controls, clauses, licensing language terminology
  • Must be a detail oriented with strong organisational skills and be able to multitask; Advanced Excel and proficient in PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, can work independently and able to prioritise to meet deadlines.
