Technical Webcast Producer / Live Streaming Engineer

Groovy Gecko are looking to fill several Technical Webcast Producer roles for a project taking place in Autumn 2024 to Spring 2025. 


The role is based onsite in London for a 6-month fixed term contract (5 days per week Monday-Friday).

Role Overview:

*IMPORTANT NOTE* This is NOT an Audio Producer role, please only apply if you have prior live event streaming experience as specified below.


Working from our offices in Old Street this position would suit a confident and capable individual with a keen interest and understanding of live online AV streaming; ideally for corporate productions as they will be responsible for delivering daily online sessions for a Blue-Chip FTSE 100 organisation to a multinational audience.


They will love working as part of a team with an excellent phone manner, good verbal and written communication skills and appreciate what it means to be punctual. This is a client-facing, technical webcasting role so the candidate needs to love tech, but also be a 'people' person with a professional, pro-active 'can do' attitude.


Requirements:

  • 2+ years' professional live event streaming experience in a fast-paced work environment
  • Teams Live Event, Zoom Webinar, or Webex Webinar experience
  • VMix vision mixing or equivalent software, (Wirecast, Tricaster etc.)
  • Good understanding of live online video streaming
  • Comfortable dealing with clients both on video and on phone
  • Effectively manage their own time and priorities
  • Understanding of broadcast signal workflows and routing
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
  • Coachable, willingness to learn new skills and technologies
  • Customer service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to multitask on a live event
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Have a good level of computer literacy - Windows OS, Office Suite (Excel), Google Suite
  • Basic understanding of networking.


Responsibilities:

  • Stream configuration and testing using MS Teams
  • Client liaison
  • Operation of Webcasting equipment
  • Managing encoders, audio and video feeds, slide synchronisation, Q&A Moderation and Interactive Polls
  • In house monitoring of webcast rehearsals and live events
  • Manage webcast events single handed to a high standard.


Desired skills (training will be given)

  • Streaming and management of Microsoft Teams Event functions including input, configuration from external sources (including NDI)
  • An understanding of streaming protocols SRT, RTMP and HLS
  • Experience vison mixing VIRTUAL and HYBRID EVENTS
  • Use of live interactive / polling software like Vevox or Slido
  • Windows OS troubleshooting and proficiency
  • Good knowledge of networking.


Note: Full training will be given together with testing before the live events start.


Salary: Circa £3,000 per month depending on experience.
