Data Operator

WildBrain are seeking an entry-level candidate to join our team as a Data Operator.

About the Role

This role will involve supporting the Senior Content Manager in ingesting content from clients and efficiently delivering it to other departments in the company, using our internal specifications. You will also be responsible for maintaining file storage according to WildBrain procedures and naming conventions.

The successful candidate will be able to carry out tasks to a high standard, and have the ability to spot issues, and use initiative to troubleshoot and take appropriate action.

This is a full-time role operating at normal office hours, in the heart of London.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ingesting content from clients using a variety of methods
  • Quality checking of incoming files to ensure they’ve been received correctly
  • Moving and storing content on the server to the correct workflow
  • Transcoding media to WildBrain specifications
  • Efficiently and accurately managing the workload to meet specified deadlines
  • Logging and processing metadata
  • Interpreting technical metadata of files
  • Maintaining procedures to a high standard
  • Archiving using methods such as AWS
  • Aiding line manager in answering internal and external queries.


About You

All training will be done on the job, but high attention to detail, a strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn are essential.  Strong written and verbal skills are also needed in order to communicate with external clients and internal departments.

Desirable Experience:

  • Basic video editing
  • File transfer technologies such as Aspera, Media Shuttle, FTP
  • Transcoding workflows
  • Knowledge of media file types such as H.264 and ProRes
  • Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe Premiere
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Basic Linux Commands
  • Experience in a post-production facility.
