Production Manager
Based in London and New York, Steam Motion and Sound is a moving image agency for entertainment clients.

We are now looking for a Production Manager to join our London team.
Job purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Production, the Production Manager is a key role at Steam, working alongside the rest of the team to make sure projects are delivered to the best of our abilities.   

You will provide support to the production, editing, graphics and VT staff. Manage the logistical overseeing of projects, facilitating the smooth operation of all departments.
Key Responsibilities

The role involves managing our day-to-day post-production studio logistics and workflows including:
  • Manage projects from client brief to delivery. Interpret and understand client changes to brief into the team
  • Manage the workflow of a project and be flexible to make last minute changes when required
  • Problem solve especially when last minute changes happen
  • Assigning work to post-production staff and overseeing the schedule of that work
  • Keeping track of jobs and timelines based on work schedule
  • Making sure client briefing emails make sense for the studio and they have assets needed. Collating and checking assets received from a client to make sure they are correct. 
  • Keeping track of feedback on projects to make sure everyone has the latest communication
  • Managing each client’s latest updates and deliverables, making sure all the small requests are facilitated and completed
  • Voiceover – sourcing talent, booking in, negotiating usage and ensuring POs are raised for usage and session and added to the job
  • Booking freelancers when needed
  • Ownership of projects being worked on.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Have an overview on trafficking TV & Radio commercials created in-house including submitting to Clearcast, collating tags, instructing and releasing clocks and understanding Clearcast requirements for clearance
  • Potentially helping to organize shoots, book crew, equipment, organizing catering and transport as required
  • Production admin – quoting on jobs, processing POs, raising invoices and keeping track of paperwork
  • Point of contact for clients and requests
  • Answering the phone and taking messages
  • Back up on reception when necessary and assist with building maintenance issues
  • Ad hoc tasks including booking couriers, running errands and booking travel.
Key requirements:
  • Post-production experience - essential
  • Strong knowledge of all areas of video production workflow
  • We are Mac based; familiarity with Mac OS not essential but advantageous.

Person Profile:
  • Must be confident, a self-starter, hard working and reliable
  • You are quick, accurate, stress tolerant, a problem solver with good communication skills
  • You have attention to detail and the ability to be 'thrown in the at the deep end' and cope with anything you come up against
  • You must be confident in own abilities and be willing to learn more.

  • Standard hours are 9am to 6pm, however, this role will include ad hoc evenings and weekends dependent on projects and deadlines
  • Remuneration will be competitive, and based on experience
  • Steam provides a company pension.
