Broadcast Engineer - Maintenance

About the Role
Based at our Britannia Park broadcast Repair hub as Broadcast Engineer - Maintenance, reporting to our Technical Repair Centre Team Leader, you’ll provide support problem management; apply root cause analysis and where possible implement corrective actions to avoid repeat incidents. 

It’s a varied role in a great team with lots of autonomy to identify improvements in services, processes and systems. Helping to ensure all Arqiva systems operate to appropriate technical standards and are available for use continuously.

You’ll also: 
  • Evaluate, diagnose, repair and configure electronic and mechanical broadcast/telecommunication equipment. You’ll develop and implement modifications as required.
  • Contribute to technical investigations to identify and rectify problems with equipment performance. You’ll review trend analysis and recommend solutions to the Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer and Team Leader.
  • Deputise for the Senior Engineer and provide the Senior Engineer with necessary support and guidance to maximise the technical team’s potential.

About You
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • With specialised knowledge of broadcast testing, repair and configuration, you'll be aware of technical developments, modern techniques and test equipment, taking a proactive involvement with the arrival of new equipment for the repair centre.
  • You will have specialised knowledge of networked equipment such as Cisco or similar.
  • The ability to reverse engineer and repair equipment.
  • Skills in developing and maintaining professional working relationships with internal/external customers and if possible, third-party suppliers.

Person Profile:
  • The successful candidate must be able to provide evidence of self-motivation, analysis of problems and a work ethic of wanting to see a problem through to solution.
  • You will need to be self-motivated, a self-starter and be able to work without supervision.
