Senior UX Research Lead

We are looking for a Lead UX Researcher to join our UX & Design Team at NOW TV based at Sky in Osterley. 


This is a brilliant opportunity to work within the UX and Design team as a key part of the NOW TV business, championing and owning UX Research.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead as a promoter for a culture that delivers outstanding experiences for real people, grounded in meaningful evidence.
  • Have a mixture of practical skills in the research field – including planning, executing and communicating studies that reveal the motivations and behaviours of users.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to inspire design thinking and customer empathy in an agile, fast paced, iterative environment.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly and effectively. Help develop solutions with product team and UX designers. Work solely on research projects and together with other UX researchers.
  • Present to senior management, product managers, development teams, UX colleagues and multi-disciplinary audiences.
  • Day to day management of a UX Researcher.
  • Help champion the voice of the customer, ensuring that the customer user experience across all touchpoints is well understood, documented and communicated across the business.
  • You will plan and handle the UX research budget and produce monthly UX Research forecasts for management and the finance team.
  • Synthesise learnings from a range of available sources, including statistics, previous research, and third-party reports.
  • Engage with other members of UX, Digital teams and broader functions to clearly promote value and benefit of research and generate strong demand for function. 
  • Engage with colleagues and stakeholders to determine the research requirements and propose best approach. 
  • Identify themes and headlines from research activity quickly and effectively.


About You

Your Skills:

  • Knowledge of operating usability lab, using equipment and related software / tools.
  • Agile working practices and broader UX research methods (e.g. diary studies, home visits, ethnographic techniques etc.).
  • Confident and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in mentoring / line management would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical mind, self- motivated and a collaborative nature.
  • Have a hunger for curiosity for the user experience, a love of learning, open mindedness and a drive to make things better for the user.
