SNTV are seeking a Sales Director to lead all revenue-delivery activities of SNTV, focused on core revenue, top clients and generation of new organic revenue through new business and lead generation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Director will lead all revenue-delivery activities of SNTV, focused on core revenue, top clients and generation of new organic revenue through new business and lead generation.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead all revenue-delivery activities of SNTV, focused on core revenue, top clients and generation of new organic revenue through new business and lead generation
  • Identify and generate new revenue opportunities from the sale of SNTV’s products and service to new prospects and market segments; generate pipeline of leads
  • Deep ongoing cooperation with SNTV regional editorial leaders to support retention, but especially prospects and lead generation., Leverage expertise and relationships
  • Manage leads through to signed contact directly and with AP or IMG sales execs, develop comms and collateral with marketing to support management of leads
  • Deep engagement of the sales teams and sales leaders of SNTV’s JV partners, the Associated Press and IMG, especially regarding top clients and new business
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and new business opportunity developments
  • Hold, develop strong relationships with directly managed clients, negotiate renewals
  • Close liaison with SNTV department heads: Business Development, Editorial, Marketing to deliver SNTV’s short-term and long-term revenue growth strategies
  • Manage and delivery revenue budgets in line with strategic and operational plans
  • Manage and improve the life-cycle management of new business proposals, determine best execution of incoming sales enquiries
  • Accurate forecasting of revenue, especially tracking/updating new business forecasts.

About You

Knowledge & Experience required:

  • Sales leadership expertise in international - ideally global - B2B sales environment
  • Proven record of successful sports/news media licensing, especially digital
  • Strong network of sports/news media relationships, both key clients and industry
  • Experienced leader of sales teams or sales leadership in highly matrixed business
  • Experience in identifying opportunities and assessing commercial viability of new products or businesses into new markets. Strong pricing and packaging acumen.


Skills & Abilities required:

  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confident, outgoing personality
  • Tenacious sales approach. Able to sell products/services to changing, global market
  • Great influencer and relationship builder, high emotional intelligence
  • Leader and closer of commercial deals
  • Creative, lateral thinker able to find commercial solutions, develop new opportunities.


Desirable Experience & Skills:

  • Experience of selling news agency / news information products and/or sports rights
  • Familiarity with broadcast and digital products, their pricing and delivery
  • Proven ability to synthesize data and other feedback into commercial opportunities
  • Foreign languages, especially Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, French.

Please Note: This role will be based at Chiswick Business Park, London, and will require  extensive travel [both short and long haul] to meet clients, prospects, sales teams.
