Editor - Digital Content

We are seeking a Digital Content Editor to create and deliver new and existing content across Chelsea's Digital Platforms.

About Us

Chelsea TV is the umbrella brand for all video content produced by Chelsea Football Club and is a key contributor to the communications, fan engagement, marketing and commercial media strategies. The in-house content and production department create and publish video across multiple channels.


About the Role

Chelsea TV are looking for a Creative Editor to work on Chelsea Football Club's expanding video content portfolio - from fast-turnaround short-form digital content and daily news shows to creating innovative promos, features and internal marketing/branded/sponsor productions. 

The ideal candidate will be a competent editor on Adobe Premiere Pro, with some experience on Avid also desirable. A passion for editing fast-turnaround, innovative and creative content, the ideal Editor will also have an interest in Football and some previous experience in quick turnaround sports news edits or similar. With a daily 'Short News' feature planned for inclusion within the Club's new app, we are looking for an editor for which this could become an owned project - working with minimal guidance on editing together an inventive short-form piece that accurately captures the day's action from the Club's activities.


Main Responsibilities:

  • To execute a creative and exciting editing approach across all content.
  • Produce and editorialise daily news content, either live or pre-recorded (short and long form)
  • Ability to work independently utilising necessary resource to complete projects.
  • Assist with the production of football features and short films that will sit across Chelsea platforms
  • To contribute with ideas for CTV features
  • Collaborate with motion graphics team on various projects
  • To work occasional match days to create content around live games.


About You

Person Specification:

  • Sports background preferred but a keen interest in football is essential
  • Strong Premiere Pro editing experience and skills
  • Ability to editorialise news, features and reactive daily content into an entertaining format.
  • Confident ambitions to deliver innovative and imaginative types of content edits.
  • Some After-effects experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills with robust attention to detail.
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Flexible and pro-active approach; with ability to adapt ways of working accordingly
  • Ability to self-motivate and work effectively with minimal direct supervision
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate and share information.


Measures of Performance:

  • Regular production of a well edited and produced short-form news feature.
  • Consistent examples of developing new creative styles and trends.
  • Meets deadlines as necessary for content production and publishing time frames
  • Meeting high production standards and quality of output set by management
  • Consistent delivery as per daily content plan
  • Meeting KPIs as outlined in the video strategy.
