Great opportunity to work onsite at a Fortune 50 Digital Media company with Vaco.


Must be fluent in French and English and have strong French music industry genre knowledge.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Music Editor - French language to work for a Fortune 50 media company.  You must be fluent in French and English - equivalent to native speaker level, and have strong French music industry genre knowledge.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Pitch, create, and optimize editorial features across a wide range of genres in tune with user interests
  • Contribute to the improvement of back catalog selection and metadata quality
  • Identify and drive co-promotion or cross-promotion opportunities with internal and external partners
  • Conduct metrics-based analysis of playlist performance and provide recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness
  • Support partner and technical teams to troubleshoot user-facing issues
  • Work with Engineering to ensure all titles in programming plans are ordered and ingested.
  • Participate in regular meetings with content partners, in order to identify editorial opportunities
  • Contribute to client’s global editorial team and its efforts to drive site improvements and innovative features on behalf of users worldwide.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Create, commission, and QA playlists
  • Maintain client’s editorial calendar for a local audience
  • Data entry for monitoring performance of playlists and campaigns.

  • The position is based at our client's fabulous London offices; however, you will be on the payroll of Vaco San Francisco [ www.sfvaco.com ].

ABOUT YOU
Key Skills, Abilities & Experience:
  • As a Music Editor, you are a self-starter who will ramp up quickly to contribute to our client's editorial team
  • You have experience working as a playlist curator, music journalist or critic, or editor for a digital music service
  • You are well-versed in music, from mainstream to niche genres and popular culture most relevant in France
  • You are a music expert, but are also able to understand and program to the interests of an average music listener in France
  • Additionally, you bring strong analytical abilities and impeccable oral and written communication skills
  • You possess a high degree of comfort and flexibility when working cross-functionally with product, design, marketing, engineering, and other teams to develop an innovative user experience
  • You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively to develop new ideas and scalable processes
  • You bring a proven ability to prioritize, meet critical deadlines, and take on challenging tasks with enthusiasm and a problem-solving mindset.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level BA/BSc (Manager is open to degree).
  • 1-2 years in an editorial/merchandising role for a mobile or online digital content business
  • Ability to speak and write in French and English fluently and idiomatically
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the music industry and culture in France
  • Strong editorial and creative skills -- ability to craft messaging and work with design and production resources to drive creative execution
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze research or performance data and apply that analysis to optimize our editorial strategy
  • Experience working with both external and internal partners on co-promotion or cross-promotion strategies and campaigns
  • Knowledge of and experience with online best practices.
